MonoPhone is a minimalist launcher, day planner, and focus tool for Android. It replaces your default home screen with a clean, text-based interface designed to reduce distractions, stop mindless scrolling, and help you manage screen time deliberately.

• Minimalist Launcher: A calm, text-based home screen that keeps essential apps and widgets organized while reducing visual clutter.


• Day Planner: Plan your day on a 24-hour timeline with color-coded tasks (FOCUS, WORK, GENERAL, NON-FOCUS), task durations, weekly recurrence, and reminder notifications.


• Focus Timer: Run Pomodoro-style sessions from 5 to 120 minutes with full-screen mode and automatic focus protections.


• Distraction Control & App Blocker: Block short-form content (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels), trigger blocking overlays, and silence notifications.


• Usage Insights & Screen Time Analytics: Track app usage and distraction time with daily, weekly, and monthly analytics—processed 100% on-device.


• Minimalist Widget Panel: Add minimalist clock widgets, focus previews, a scratchpad for notes, and native Android widgets.


• Optional Social Focus: Join focus groups, share progress with accountability partners, and compare focus time. All social features are opt-in.

Mandatory Permissions & Data Disclosures



1. AccessibilityService API

This app uses the Android AccessibilityService API to detect the currently active foreground application so it can restrict access to user-selected apps and short-form content during focus sessions. Detection is performed strictly on-device. The service does not record, collect, store, or transmit audio, keystrokes, or any personal data. This permission is optional, requires an in-app prominent disclosure before activation, and can be disabled anytime in Android Settings.



2. Microphone Permission (RECORD_AUDIO)

Access to the microphone is requested only when you initiate a supported voice action (for example, voice scheduling). Audio is captured only while you actively record, is transmitted solely to Google's Gemini API to transcribe the spoken command, and is not recorded in the background or stored after processing. A visual indicator is shown while audio is being processed. Voice input is optional and never requested without a user-initiated action.



3. Package Visibility (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES)

This app requests visibility of installed packages strictly to function as a home launcher and present installed applications for selection in app-management tools.



4. System Overlays & Foreground Services

System alert windows and foreground services are used to maintain active timers, display session overlays and blocking screens, and prevent background termination while a focus session is active.



5. Usage Access & Notification Listener

Usage access is used to calculate app-usage and focus statistics. The notification listener is used only to pause notifications during focus sessions. All processing is local and no notification content is harvested or stored.
