Moodella asks about your day in six short steps, about two minutes in the evening. Then it writes a few plain sentences about the day, from your own entries. There is no account, and what you write stays on your phone.
How a day works
1. How are you feeling? Pick your mood on a seven-point scale.
2. Which feelings stood out?
3. What was good for you today? Small things count too.
4. What didn't do you good: bad sleep, too much screen time, an argument.
5. What did you put off? It's a list, not a judgement.
6. Your reading for the day.
Steps 2 to 5 can stay empty. "Nothing like that today" is an answer too.
Your daily reading
Moodella writes it on your phone, from your own entries: where today sits among your recent days, one or two things your days show, and a small invitation for tomorrow. "I'll try this" or "Not today": both are fine answers. Nothing is sent anywhere to write it.
Empty days and the reminder
An empty day is just empty: no broken streaks, no penalties. If there's no entry for yesterday, you can still add it today; earlier days stay as they are. When you first open Moodella, it offers one evening reminder at a time you choose. It stays off unless you turn it on, and if you let it pass, it doesn't send another.
Look back
• Calendar: every day you've noted.
• Stats for the last 30 days: your moods, the days of the week, your longest run, and what helped, weighed on you or was put off most.
• Patterns: what repeats in your own entries, such as a feeling that often comes with something you put off.
Your journal stays on your phone
• No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
• Everything you write is stored on your phone, and you can delete it there whenever you like. We never receive it.
• It leaves the phone only in a backup of your own. Google Drive backup, if you turn it on, copies your journal to a hidden folder in your own Google Drive once a day, when you open the app. Only Moodella can reach it, and we never see it.
• Dated copies are kept for each phone. Restore one on a new phone, or delete them, from the app.
• If your phone's Google backup is on and it has a screen lock, Android can also keep an encrypted copy in your Google account. You can also export your journal to a file and import it on another phone; an import never removes a day, you choose which version to keep when a day differs, and you can undo it for 30 days.
• From us, the app only fetches a small file of notices and settings, the same for everyone. The request carries nothing about you.

Free and Pro
Free, with no time limit: the daily check-in, the calendar, stats, your whole history, patterns from your last 14 days, the reminder, backup and export.
Pro adds the daily reading, patterns by weekday, the feeling–shadow map and patterns from your last 12 months. Pro isn't on sale yet. Until it is, all of it is open to everyone, and we'll say so on moodella.com at least 30 days before that changes. Once on sale, Pro will be a Google Play subscription, monthly or yearly.
Moodella is a journal, not a medical or health service. If you write certain words, the app shows helplines. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number.
