Ordering glasses online and need your PD? PD Meter helps you measure your pupillary distance (PD) in millimeters using a front-camera selfie and any standard-size card, like a credit card, for scale — no ruler, no second person, no trip to the optician.

Your pupillary distance is the gap between the centers of your pupils. Online eyewear stores ask for it so your lenses are centered correctly in the frame. PD Meter gives you a quick, repeatable estimate from the comfort of your home.

HOW IT WORKS

• Hold a standard card (a credit card, ID or any ISO-size card) under your eyes — its known width gives the app a real-world scale.
• Take a front-camera selfie, looking straight at the lens.
• Mark the center of each pupil and the edges of the card.
• PD Meter converts pixels to millimeters and shows your PD instantly.

This is by far the best App to very precisely measure your pupillary distance. It gave me the same results as I got at the eye doctors. Highly recommended! 5 stars!

This doesn't work, or do anything at all. Tried on 2 very different phones. Full of ads though.

Needs the selfie camera, then 5 taps on the photo (card corners + pupils). If preview is black or the shutter does nothing, which two phones? Ads stay; the app is free.

You're right that the old method had a real bias: the card sits about 15 mm in front of your pupils, so readings came out too low. Version 1.0.13 corrects for that depth and rewrote the on-screen guide. If you update and measure again with the card flat against your face, it should line up with your optician's PD.
