About this game

Plug it in. Watch the room glow.

Plug & Glow is a gentle puzzle game about bringing a dark room back to life, one cable at a time. Draw a cable from a wall socket to the appliance of the same colour, keep your cables from crossing, and when the last plug clicks in, the whole room warms up with light.

No timers. No lives. No losing. Take a wrong turn, and you simply try again, at your own pace.

HOW IT PLAYS

Connect a socket to an appliance by dragging a cable across the floor. Two cables can never share a tile, so the route is the puzzle: every cable you lay changes where the next one can go. Drag over a cable to reroute it, tap one to clear it, or undo a step.

Then the lovely part: every appliance does something the moment it gets power. A lamp casts a warm circle of light around it. A fridge freezes puddles so a cable can cross them. A fan nudges a box, a balloon or a toy car out of your way. A heater melts ice, a humidifier soaks the floor, a shredder snips anything you run in front of it, and a router wakes up smart bulbs with no cable at all. Plug things in the right order and the room opens up for you. Plug them in the wrong order and you will see exactly what happened, and why.

Curious about something? Hold it, and it tells you what it does.

MORE THAN FORTY THINGS TO PLUG IN, NUDGE, MELT OR TIPTOE AROUND

Wall sockets, batteries with short cables, fuse boxes that trip when you ask too much of them, power strips that feed several appliances from one socket, power banks you charge first and use later, adapters that change a cable's colour, solar chargers that only wake up in the light. Lamps, fridges, fans, heaters, hairdryers, shredders, routers, smart bulbs, humidifiers, treadmills that drive conveyor belts. Puddles, ice blocks, curtains that lift to let the daylight in, gates and the foot switches that open them, vases that shatter, balloons that pop, rugs that tuck a cable safely out of harm's way. Each one is a small rule, and each level is a new little puzzle made from a handful of them.

200 LEVELS IN FOUR ROOMS

Start in the Living Room, then open up the Kitchen, the Lounge and the Garage. Each room has its own appliances waiting to be switched on, from a turntable and a pinball machine to a compressor and a boombox, its own furniture to route around, and its own music. Boards grow from a five-by-five corner to a whole room, and every level is checked to be solvable before it reaches you.

STARS OPEN ROOMS

Every level is worth up to three stars: one for lighting the room, two for doing it in par moves, three for doing it without a hint. Stars open the next room, in whichever order you like.

Stuck? A hint shows you one move, never the whole answer, and pressing it again shows another way in. You start with a handful of hints and undos, and a short video tops them up. Restarting never costs anything, and the game always brings you back to the level you left.

A ROOM THAT PLAYS ALONG

Every room has its own soundtrack. Cables play soft notes as you lay them, and plugging in a speaker, a turntable or a boombox brings in the beat. Appliances doze until you power them, then wake up with a little breath.

24 LANGUAGES
