The Ruet, the first official moonsighting mobile application utility in Pakistan, developed with an aim to be used to view the various moon related details through scientific ways and to facilitate the people at large to sight the moon on religious and other occasions.

The App is developed and published by COMSATS University Islamabad (“CUI”) for and on behalf of Ministry of Science and Technology.

Main features in this application:

-Official five years (1440-1445 H) lunar calendar developed and launched by Ministry of Science and Technology.
- Statistical information of new Moon
- Moon Phases
- Sky Simulation

Sensors required for the smooth working of this application:

- GPS
- Compass
- Accelerometer
- Gyroscope
- Touch screen
- Multi touch

Permissions required to run this application:

- Internet and network access permission.
- Location (precise GPS and network-based location): needed for precise calculations of moon and sun position.

Ratings and reviews

Weird user interface. Take time to understand what these buttons really means. The front page should tell the exact lunar date of today and show the moon, instead of selecting a month and city etc. Can be improved by adding more features and a good look and feel. Must be eye catching. Overall interface and theme is so dumb.

Excellent Initiative, App Shows Current Moon phase very accurately. However There's a lot of room for interface improvement. Since this is version 1.0. i have high hopes that this app shall evolve and they keep on improving it with time. I've been using a similar App Daff Moon for the past 5 years and i would suggest the Development team to check that out as it would give you new ideas about evolving the app.

Excellent App. please write a review once you explore it fully. Someone here wrote,it shows the wrong date, dude it just shows a random date and you will then have to choose the month and city from the drop down list.
