About this app

This application requires a special bluetooth device.

More info about the TankCheck Sensor can be found here: http://mopeka.com/

This application is designed to be used with the Mopeka TankCheck sensor. The Tank Check application can measure the LPG propane level to tell you the exact fill level and when your tank is empty. It can be used on tanks found in RVs, heaters, BBQ grills, etc. The Tank Check sensors are magnetically stuck to the bottom of your propane tank and will periodically measure and wirelessly send the fill level or percentage to the Tank Check app. Stick it on the bottom of your tank and know exactly when you are running low on propane! This technology is patent pending.

Usage:
1. To pair your Tank Check sensor to the phone, simply press the "Sync" button on the back of the sensor while the app's main screen is visible. The first time you use your Tank Check sensor you must press the "Sync" button 5 times in a row in order to wake up the sensor.
2. Place the Tank Check sensor in the center of the underside of the tank. Most tanks have a small "flat" spot on the center and this is the nominal location for the sensor.
3. Flip the tank over. Once the fluid has settled the app will display a reading. Note that the LPG fluid will be sloshing around in the tank for a few minutes and the quality of the measurements will be low until this has stabilized.

I do not understand the need for Location to be turned on for Bluetooth connection to be active. This is redundant unnecessary compliance. Also when checking tank volume remotely via the Cloud, again it is unnecessary for the application to initiate a call out for a Bluetooth scan and have the user turn on Bluetooth. I as a cellular device user 95% of the time have location turned off, and when saving battery have Bluetooth turned off.

Works great. I was apprehensive due to some of the 1-star reviews, but it's clear that some of them didn't read the instructions. Your tank has to level and still for an accurate read. Setup took 2 minutes. Honestly, some of these reviews... Who mounts a propane tank on the front of their vehicle?!? The CIA isn't after you; location services have to be enabled for low-power Bluetooth to work.

Got this to replace my Level gas meter which read every 24hrs and I was able to see data remotely and trends. With this app it works good over Bluetooth but if you are remote and using the gateway it doesn't work. The app forces you to turn on Bluetooth even you are remote and using their gateway. I have submitted a ticket, 9 days no response. Looking for alternative solutions to integrate with Home Assistant and allow easy remote viewing of gas levels.
