GifWidget lets you use Giphy to find gifs, and you can also use any other gif with GifWidget: just save a gif you want to use to your device and you’re all set.

We’ve optimized the app to use as little resources as possible, but you should always use the lowest suitable quality as the animation requires much more memory when a higher quality is used.
Quality guide:
– Low: best for 1x1 widgets
– Medium: best for 2x2 widgets
– High: best for 4x4 widgets
– Source: original quality, no matter how huge. Not recommended!

Please note that long animations require a lot of memory! If the animation keeps stopping or it fails to load at all, it might be too big for your device to handle. You can restart a stopped animation by tapping on the widget.

Worried about the battery life? The animation will be suspended while the screen is off, so the impact on the battery is much less than you might think.

Brilliant little app. Especially good if you get some animated GIFs with a transparent background. I have, Goku and Vegeta constantly fighting on my home screen haha over my animated wallpaper. Looks super cool. The only small issue is sometimes it freezes when returning to the home screen. It starts again when you tap it, and it always plays fine when you turn on your screen, so it's not a big issue. But I'd love it to be fixed if possible.

I like it, however, the gif stops working every now and then. I even need to click the actual app itself before it works again which is kind of a bummer. But I'll still use this app for a while to test if it will improve or not. But if it's not, I'm uninstalling. p/s: All permissions were allowed on the app, I even removed it from the list of apps under battery optimization on my device thinking it will help in making it work well.. but still the gif freezes in my homescreen.

Love the app as its probably the best gif widget tool available on the playstore but I've got a few suggestions to make it better. Give us an option to load in certain gifs that we pick ahead of other gifs. Increase the amount of gifs that load in by atleast 1-3 before the gifs fail and have to be reloaded in. Maybe make a launcher so we can see each gif that we have on the homescreen. Allow us to switch/ change gifs and their pic quality from there without messing up the gifs on the homescreen.
