About this app

Turn your smartphone into a professional optical vibrometer.

MoVVAT (Motion Video Vibration Analysis Tool) is a high-tech diagnostic utility that detects, magnifies, and measures sub-pixel micro-vibrations invisible to the naked eye. Utilizing state-of-the-art Phase-based Eulerian Video Magnification (EVM) and digital signal processing, MoVVAT extracts microscopic oscillations from standard video to give you immediate, actionable physical telemetry.

Whether you are diagnosing mechanical wear, analyzing structural integrity, or conducting laboratory physics experiments, MoVVAT brings visual motion science directly to your mobile device. All calculations are executed locally on your device, ensuring 100% data privacy.

*** IMPORTANT OPERATION REQUIREMENTS ***
Because MoVVAT measures sub-pixel movements, absolute camera stability is mandatory:
1. You MUST mount your device on a sturdy tripod. Any hand movement or camera shake will corrupt the analysis.
2. Bright lighting is required. Keep your camera ISO low (under 800) and lock your shutter speed to prevent motion blur and digital sensor noise.
3. Lock your capture rate (30, 60, or 120 FPS). Your maximum measurable frequency is half of your recording FPS (Nyquist Limit).

------------------------------------

KEY FEATURES:

• PHASE-BASED MOTION MAGNIFICATION
Magnify sub-pixel movements up to 100x without blowing up background noise. Spot hidden misalignments, loose joints, and resonance frequencies instantly.

• HIGH-PRECISION ROI TRACKING
Draw custom Regions of Interest (ROI) over vibrating components.
- POINT MODE: Leverages sub-pixel correlation tracking for small details (bolt heads, marking dots).
- FOCUS MODE: Tracks surface contrast for highly textured materials.
- CENTROID TRACKING: Computes structural center-of-mass displacement path.

• ADVANCED KINETIC GRAPHING & FFT
- TIME SERIES: Plot motion displacement amplitude over time.
- FREQUENCY SPECTRUM: Perform real-time Fast Fourier Transforms (FFT) to identify peak frequencies (in Hz or CPM) and calculate Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR).
- ORBIT TRAJECTORY: Map the 2D spatial path (X vs Y displacement) of the vibration.

• DUAL-ZONE ANALYSIS (PRO)
Track two separate zones (Zone A and Zone B) simultaneously. Monitor and compare phase differences, relative displacements, and structural synchronization.

• CROP & SYSTEM OPTIMIZATION
Minimize processing times and RAM consumption by drawing a crop window directly over the active mechanism. Choose between parallel CPU (OpenMP optimized) or GPU processing acceleration.

• CALIBRATION & EXPORTS
Calibrate physical distance (mm/microns/inches) using a known reference object to convert pixel metrics to real-world units. Export processed videos (up to 4K in PRO) with real-time telemetry graphs overlaid on the video.

ENGINE DISCLAIMER & BATTERY WARNING
Eulerian video processing is mathematically intensive. The real-time physics engine utilizes parallel processing, which causes heavy battery drain and device heat. This is normal behavior for desktop-class computer vision algorithms running on mobile hardware.
