About this app

The core function of Green Tracks reads and analyzes the GPX, KML, KMZ and other track files in the mobile phone, and draws the analyzed content on the map. With the GPS satellite positioning, the user can know where he is in the track line. Reduce the risk of getting lost and can be used as a reference for outdoor activities such as mountain climbing and hiking.

•Supports Mapsforge offline map files
You can download the OpenAndroMaps world map directly in Green Tracks.

Install Mapsforge's POI file to search for points of interest offline.

•Supports offline maps in MBTiles format

Greedy and ad-infested. Used to be a nice, simple free app, but the developer has injected more and more ads and obstacles with every update. It now locks away your track recordings; exporting your data to an open format, for use in other apps, requires watching a 15 second unskippable ad for *each* of your track recordings. The backup format is encrypted, to ensure only the app, and not you, has access to your data. A lazy money-grab. Try the excellent open-source OsmAnd instead.

This app is a lifesaver for hiking in areas with no data. Really simple and easy to use to download offline maps. I didn't use it to track my hikes this past week in Glacier NP, I just used it to check and reference if I was still on a trail and where I was along it. Couldn't figure out how to change the scale to imperial units though, my only complaint but not a big issue for what I was using it for.

I love this app! It is easy to use with both online and offline maps. I do trail running and hiking and by overlaying the tracks on the maps, it actually helps me many times. It also help me to plan and get the idea of the area I'll visit. I highly recommend this app! You can use all of the features for free, but I just purchased it as a support and as a thank.

What’s new

1. Customizable sorting in "Share gpx file."
2. Playback time in exported "Google Earth Tour files" is now proportional to distance.
