About this app

MoveClock is a precise, fully offline chess clock for two players — perfect for
chess, checkers, Go, Scrabble, backgammon, or any turn-based board game that
needs a shared timer.

DUAL COUNTDOWN CLOCKS
Two independent clocks, one for each player, shown large and easy to read.
The clock facing your opponent is automatically rotated 180° so both players
can read their own time naturally while sitting across a table — just like a
real tournament chess clock.

TAP TO PASS THE TURN
Tap your own running clock to stop your time and start your opponent's. Only
one clock ever runs at a time, and a clear highlight always shows whose turn
it is.

REAL TIME CONTROLS, IMPLEMENTED CORRECTLY
Choose from standard presets or build your own:
• Bullet — 1 minute
• Blitz — 3 or 5 minutes
• Rapid — 10 or 15 minutes
• Classical — 30 minutes or more
• Fully custom base time, down to the second

Every standard increment and delay style is supported, with careful,
tested logic:
• Fischer increment — seconds are added to your clock right after each move
• Bronstein delay — up to the delay is given back each move, but never more
than you actually used, and never more than you started the move with
• Simple/US delay — a fixed delay runs before your main time starts
counting down each turn
• None — a plain, no-frills countdown

MOVE COUNTING AND FLAG DETECTION
MoveClock tracks how many moves each player has made, and clearly flags a
player (with a distinct color and sound) the instant their clock reaches
zero, stopping the game automatically.

PAUSE, RESUME AND RESET
Pause both clocks at any time, resume exactly where you left off, or reset
to start a fresh game with the same or a different time control.

LOCAL GAME HISTORY
Every finished or stopped game is logged on your device — the time control
used, final move counts, and whether a side flagged or the game was stopped
manually. View your history any time, or clear it whenever you like.

CLEAR AUDIO CUES
A short, distinct tone plays every time a move is passed, and a clear alarm
sounds the instant a player's time runs out — synthesized on-device, no
audio files required.

APPEARANCE
Choose System, Light, Dark, or a pure Black & White high-contrast theme.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
MoveClock works completely offline. It has no account, no ads, no
analytics, and requests no internet permission at all. Your games and
settings stay on your device.
