About this app

In this app you will get to know the national languages of the Nordic countries: Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish and Icelandic, and the two official languages: Greenlandic and Faroese. The Nordic countries also have several national minority languages. The app contains one of these, North Sami. In addition, Övdalian and North Frisian.

If you want to get to know other minority languages in the Nordic countries, several of these can be found in the two apps Kieli and Get to Know the Sami languages.

The apps show how words and simple sentences are written and pronounced. Words and sentences have been chosen to show basic grammar. By showing many examples of basic grammar, curiosity is aroused and it is easier to ask specific questions, which is a great help for learning a new language. Under the All category you can see words and sentences together for all languages.

Words and sentences are also available in other languages, this app also includes English and German.

Tapping on a word takes you to a dictionary for the individual language.
