The MRF Navigation App is an end user solution to utilize AMDSP data and support their navigational needs. AMDSP (Alberta Municipal Data Sharing Partnership) has about 150 members who have contributed their road network, address points, and points of interest (“POI”) to the AMDSP Portal. It is the best source for road network and rural addresses in Alberta. Google Maps and other mapping applications do not use rural addresses, making it hard for people to navigate to a specific rural address.

The following are the major capabilities of MRFNav:

•View and browse the AMDSP addresses, road network, and POI map.
•Save a location as a “Favorite”.
•View the user’s current location on the map.
•Search for routes between any two points on the map (by user’s current location, favorite location, hand-picked location, or by address search).
•Turn by turn navigation of the route with voice instruction.
•In-app notifications for new AMDSP data available for download.
