This is the official MyCiTi App for the City of Cape Town.

The app enables commuters, visitors and locals to plan their journey around Cape Town and the surrounding area using the world class MyCiTi bus service.

I am so impressed thus far. You have to admit, it is much more convenient to look for top-up locations and check timetables in this smart, new app than it is to navigate the website on your phone. And in-app balance checking is cool and convenient! Route planning is a little easier because I need only type in the stop name, without "Cape Town ..." first, like I do on Google Maps. Pity it cannot incorporate driving time from my location to the nearest stop. I cannot wait to try out "Where is my bus?" and I hold high hopes for in-app top-ups in the future! All-in-all, very impressive and a good first step.

Good start for the official app, I've used the unofficial one for years and this has most of the functionality. NFC card balance feature and live times works great as well. One comment - the filter on the route map page doesn't seem to apply, you can select one route but it keeps loading all of them, which slows down the app considerably. Also its not immediately clear how to change route direction (maybe move the setting from "filter" to next to the direction option?)

The journey mapper is useful, athough a bit tricky if you don't know the names of stations. It would be useful to be able to pick you destination statio on on a map. The NFC reader is VERY frustrating, since it seems to have a bug. Other apps on my device (Samsung A52s) cam pick up the MyCiti card, but the app just cancels every time it read it. Given how many other complaints in the reviews are about the NFC feature, it's probably a long-standing issue.
