Get up close and personal with all 171 snake species indigenous to southern Africa. This interactive field tool is perfect for anybody visiting and living in the region with an interest in its snake species.

Designed for easy identification of all snakes likely to be spotted, this app supplies a wealth of information, from detailed descriptions, scale count and reproductive habits to geographical distribution and emergency hospital contacts, just in case you get a little too close.

THE AUTHOR
Johan Marais is an entrepreneur, naturalist and photographer. He has contributed significantly towards the conservation of reptiles during the past twenty years. He has lectured widely on the topic, is past chairman of the Herpetological Association of Africa and serves as a member of the Crocodile Specialist Group (Species Survival Commission) of the World Conservation Union (IUCN). He has authored a range of books, including A Complete Guide to the Snakes of Southern Africa.
