LinkUp is a high-performance communication hub designed for the modern world. It combines seamless instant messaging and VoIP calling with high-precision, real-time location sharing. Whether you’re coordinating a meetup or making sure a loved one gets home safely, LinkUp helps you stay synced with clarity and control.

🛡️ PRIVACY BY DESIGN
We take a practical, privacy-minded approach—not empty slogans:
• Delivery-first media pipeline: Photos, videos, voice notes, and files are processed to reach your friends. Temporary cloud copies are removed after delivery where applicable; undelivered items are auto-cleaned on a schedule.
• Account data we need to run the app: Profile details, friend connections, and search index data are retained so you can sign in, find friends, and stay connected—until you delete your account or request further removal.
• Encrypted in transit: Messages, location coordinates, and call signaling are protected with industry-standard HTTPS/TLS. Call audio uses encrypted WebRTC media channels. Chat is delivered through a secure cloud relay (not marketed as end-to-end encrypted chat).
• Verified Google Sign-In: Sign in with Google to create your account and reduce spam accounts.
• In-app control: Manage sounds, Do Not Disturb for calls or location requests, permissions setup, unfriend, and account deletion from Settings. Contact support if you need additional data removal.

Move together, even when you’re apart:
• Live map sharing during accepted tracking sessions
• Custom proximity alarms when a friend enters your nearby zone
• Background-aware location so tracking can continue when the app isn’t open
• Request-based sharing: friends request access; you accept or decline
• Do Not Disturb for location requests when you don’t want to be asked

⚡ CORE FOREGROUND SERVICE USAGE
LinkUp uses foreground services to keep essential features reliable:
• Real-time proximity / tracking: a foreground location service helps proximity and live tracking work even if the screen is off or you’re in another app—more reliable than basic background updates alone.
• Uninterrupted voice calling: microphone and phone-call type foreground services help prevent the system from ending your call when you leave the call screen.

A persistent notification is shown while these services are active for transparency and control.
