AccessibilityService API use

MyPlainPhone uses the Android AccessibilityService API only for the optional Strict Mode feature.

Strict Mode helps keep Plain Mode effective by detecting when a blocked or non-essential app is opened while Plain Mode is active. When this happens, MyPlainPhone can redirect you back to the Plain Mode screen or show a blocking screen so you can stay with your selected essential apps.

Accessibility access is optional. The basic launcher, essential apps, and Plain Mode can be used without enabling Accessibility access.

MyPlainPhone does not use AccessibilityService to read or collect messages, passwords, payment details, personal content, or sensitive information from other apps. MyPlainPhone does not use AccessibilityService to type on your behalf, send messages, make purchases, record the screen, or change device settings without your action.

You can disable Accessibility access at any time in Android Settings.

Diagnostics and analytics

MyPlainPhone uses Firebase Crashlytics to help detect, understand, and fix app crashes.

MyPlainPhone also uses Firebase Analytics to understand basic app usage, such as app opens, screen views, feature usage, and purchase-related events. This helps improve the app experience.

MyPlainPhone does not require an account, does not show ads, and does not sell personal data.

Private by design

MyPlainPhone does not require an account. Your Plain Mode settings, selected essential apps, schedules, and preferences are stored locally on your device.

Diagnostic and analytics data may be processed through Firebase to help improve reliability, understand app usage, and fix crashes.

Subscriptions

Some features may require Pro, such as advanced schedules, stricter exits, Strict Mode, and additional Plain Mode controls.

If your phone feels too noisy, too tempting, or too full, MyPlainPhone helps bring it back to the essentials.
