About this app

The SMOBOT App for Android allows you to control and monitor your SMOBOT Automated Grill Controller. Once your SMOBOT is connected to the internet and you have registered it on http://mysmobot.com, use the app to natively monitor and control from anywhere in the world.

- View a graph of your current cook
- Display and change the set point of your SMOBOT
- Set up alarms to be notified when your food reaches a specified temperature

I love my smobot but the app is pretty bad. The graph is slow to update, requiring a restart to update on command. The temp alarms don't work at all. The temperature adjusting functions work using up/down buttons instead of text input, so going from 250 to 350 requires 100 taps. In general, the usability isn't great. On the positive side, it's never failed to send a command to the smobot unit.

It works adequately for me to get good cooks. Often it doesn't update unless you kill it and restart. Adding a button to force an update would save some steps. Also a time of last update would help. You can set alarms but they don't ring or anything, so useless. Finally an easy way to say "done, please close damper" would be nice. Half-baked app.

Its nice to be able to see and control the temperatures remotely but it freezes regularly and has to be closed and opened again in order to see current temperatures. I don't think it's ever really had any improvements.
