About this app

PLAN THE BEST ROUTE FOR YOUR EXCURSION
Plan your route by choosing your favorite map from the many available. These include maps from the Swiss Federal Institute, the best in the world, as well as those from IGN France and USGS National Map. You can draw your route on the maps on the Bluerando Portal, or search among those shared by other users, directly on the app. The route will be automatically synchronized on your phone.

RECORD YOUR ACTIVITY
During your hike, check your track on the map and see if it matches your planned route. Check the location of your hiking companions directly on your phone screen. If necessary, send your location or theirs by email or text message. Connect Bluerando to your heart rate monitor and keep track of your heart rate.

AVALANCHE REPORTS
If your activity takes place in a snowy environment, carefully assess the environmental risks. Bluerando helps you by showing you all the avalanche reports available for the area you are traveling in with just one click. We currently have reports from AINEVA, Meteomont, Meteo France, and SLF/WhiteRisk. We therefore cover the whole of Italy, France, and Switzerland, as well as neighboring areas. We are working tirelessly to extend our coverage to other areas.

SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE
At the end of your trip, share your experience. Write a short report describing your impressions and the conditions you encountered. It may be useful to others who are planning an excursion in the area.
Save and share your track as a route so that it can be found and used by others, or by yourself, when planning a new activity.

CONTRIBUTE TO EVERYONE'S SAFETY
Use the new Observe & Report feature, take some photos, and describe the event or situation you witnessed. In particular, photograph and share signs of detachments and avalanches. Your phone will locate the report and record other important elements, such as air temperature. All this information, which is of course strictly anonymous, will be added to a database shared with the authorities that have requested it and will continue to do so. In particular, with those who produce daily avalanche reports for the benefit of us all. This is valuable information for them, helping them to verify forecasts and constantly improve the models they use.

Bluerando has set itself the goal of actively contributing to spreading a culture of conscious mountain use, especially in its splendid winter guise. For this reason, we have introduced new features: avalanche reports can be consulted directly in the app and, above all, there is the “Observe and Report” function. Go to https://www.bluerando.com for more details.

What’s new

Fixed a bug that caused the app to crash on some devices when using “Share Location with Friends.”
In this version, we have also improved the activity sharing process, adding the option to choose between “Private,” “Friends,” or “Public” when closing the session.
