About this app

Discover the ancient secrets of the Gnostic texts with the Nag Hammadi Library app, now accessible on your Android device. Immerse yourself in the rich history of the twelve leather-bound papyrus codices, discovered in 1945 near the Upper Egyptian town of Nag Hammadi.

Featuring fifty-two primarily Gnostic treatises, as well as three works belonging to the Corpus Hermeticum and a partial translation of Plato's Republic, these manuscripts provide an unparalleled look into the spiritual beliefs of early Christianity. Written in Coptic language, the original codices are housed in the prestigious Coptic Museum in Cairo, Egypt.

With our app, you can easily access these invaluable manuscripts for study and research purposes, bringing the historical significance of the Nag Hammadi library to the palm of your hand.

I installed this app with high hopes, but was disappointed. Not only is the format of the documents not ideal, compared to other translations (i.e. no chapter or verse for easy referencing), but the Gospel of Mary is completely missing. I wanted an app like this to be able to read the nag hammadi codex wherever I happened to be and one of the most well-known gospels is missing. 3 stars.

This is the pure Nag Hammadi complete library, untouched, fragments found inside a cave with more than a thousand years of age. There is a lot of translations on the internet, go for it. There is no Gospel of Mary in it, you are completely mistaken.

Amazing app. I was so stoked when I found this app. it's not available on apple, and that's one of the reasons I was so glad to switch back to android. They (the church) attempted to eradicate the Gnostics and all of their books in the 4th century because Gnosticism was the truth. They did not allow these texts into the canonical gospels because they knew that Christianity would be effective in controlling the masses.

All the Gnostic and related texts in one easy to use app. When carrying a library or even a single volume around is inconvenient, this app saves the day. Also, the ads are absolutely NOT intrusive. Well done, and thanks to the Developer.
