About this app

Aika – File Transfer and Local Messaging, Without the Internet

Aika lets you transfer files, folders, and messages between your devices, or with people nearby, directly over your local network—without using the internet, without an account, and without an intermediary server.

How it Works

Aika automatically discovers compatible devices nearby on the same network. You can also connect instantly by scanning a QR code, which is convenient when devices aren't on the same Wi-Fi network.

What You Can Do

Send files and folders between your devices (phone, computer, tablet)
Exchange messages in real time with the Messages tab, with history saved locally on your device
Share photos, images, and documents directly from your gallery or file system
Block a device if needed, to stop receiving connection requests from it
Use Aika on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux

Privacy by Design

Aika does not collect or share your data with third parties. No account is required. Your files and conversations are transmitted only between the devices you choose, on your local network—never through an external server.

Open source

Aika is based on the open-source LocalSend technology (Apache License 2.0), adapted and enhanced to provide a unique Aika experience and identity.

Aika is free. Optional development support is available within the application for those who wish to contribute.
