Nearly – Family safety, beautifully simple

Nearly is a secure, end-to-end encrypted family safety app that lets parents monitor the location, battery level, and safety of their paired child devices. Designed for families, Nearly helps parents stay informed during configured active tracking periods while ensuring transparency, consent, and genuine privacy — your family's location can only be read by you, not by us.
How It Works
Nearly operates in two modes:

Parent Mode – View current and past location activity, receive SOS alerts, and monitor battery level
Child Mode – Share location securely with an authorized parent and send SOS alerts in an emergency

All location data is end-to-end encrypted: it's encrypted on the child's device and can only be decrypted by the authorized parent (and an optional co-parent). Nearly's servers store only unreadable, encrypted data.
Pairing is done on the same local network and can be completed by scanning a QR code, automatically via local discovery, or with a manual code as a fallback. During pairing both devices show a security code you can confirm to verify the connection is private. Pairing cannot begin without authorization on both devices.

SOS Alerts
When a child needs help, a single tap in the app sends an immediate alert to the parent. The notification wakes the parent's screen and provides a direct call shortcut.

Battery Monitoring
Nearly checks the child device's battery level periodically. Parents are alerted when the battery is low — even outside active tracking hours — so the device is never unreachable when it matters most.

Tracking is visible on the child device

Privacy & Security
End-to-end encrypted: location data is encrypted on the child's device and can be read only by the authorized parent (and optional co-parent). Our servers cannot read it.
We can't see your locations: Nearly's servers store only encrypted data and the keys needed to read it - never leave your devices.
Encrypted details: location, safe-zone (geofence) names, the device name, and phone number are all encrypted.
On-device place names: the city/area shown is looked up on your own phone, and your region/timezone is not exposed to our servers.
Verified pairing: a security code lets you confirm the connection between devices is private.
Free accounts retain up to 1 day of history; Premium accounts retain up to 7 days

Nearly is not designed for covert surveillance.
Nearly is intended for parents and legal guardians monitoring their own dependent devices with consent.
