The rig went dark eleven hours ago. Whatever is still moving down there is not
crew any more.
DEPTH STRIDER is a twin-stick side-scrolling shooter set in a flooded deep-sea
research station. You are the Aquanaut, alone in a two-ton atmospheric diving
suit, holding the catwalks against everything the pressure has rewritten.
HEAT, NOT AMMO
Your harpoon gatling never runs dry — it runs hot. Hold the trigger and the
barrels spin up, the spread tightens and the damage climbs. Hold it too long and
the gun jams for three full seconds, which down here is a very long time. Every
firefight is a bet on how far past the redline you are willing to push.
A SUIT, NOT A SPRINT
Water changes everything. You move with weight and momentum, thrusters slow a
fall rather than cancel it, and the dash is your only fast option — so you spend
it carefully.
GOES DOWN
Every third wave the station takes you deeper. Upper Catwalks. Coolant Spill.
Reactor Trench. The Boneyard. The Abyss. Each depth repaints the water, rebuilds
the level and introduces something new: armor-plated crabs you cannot shoot from
above, anglerfish that lock a charge and commit to it, acid spitters, drifting
mines, shoals, and things that do not stay lit long enough to identify.
WATCH YOUR AIR
The tank is always draining. Oxygen is the one meter that kills you while you are
doing nothing at all.
REFIT BETWEEN DIVES
Salvage pays for twelve permanent upgrades — thicker plating, barbed heads,
coolant injection, piercing bolts, overcharge coils, a turbine wake that shreds
what you dash through, and an emergency purge that buys you one more life per
run. Nothing resets. Every dive makes the next one further.
FIELD BOOSTERS
Supply caches scattered through the station drop twin barrels, overpressure
rounds, spool override, a pressure shield, oxygen and hull patches.
