About this app
NephX is a private academic community built exclusively for verified
nephrologists. It brings the conversations that used to happen in
WhatsApp groups, hallway hand-offs, and conference Q&A sessions into a
single, organised space where every member is a real, verified
nephrology professional.
A NephX account is FREE for verified doctors. There is no
subscription, no in-app purchase, and no advertising. Access is gated
by manual verification of medical credentials by our admin team —
typically within 24 to 48 working hours of sign-up — so every
conversation stays strictly clinical and professional.
WHAT NEPHX DOES
• Structured case discussions in topic-based groups, with replies,
reactions and threading so the signal doesn't get drowned in chat
noise.
• Voice notes — record a short audio reply when typing is awkward, the
way you'd discuss a case with a colleague in person.
• 1:1 and group calls with up to five participants — for quick second
opinions on imaging, biopsies, or a difficult bedside decision.
• Scheduled academic meetings with role-based controls (host,
co-host, panelist, attendee), waiting rooms, raise-hand, screen
sharing and synced slide presentation.
• Optional meeting recordings, retained inside the platform for
registered members only, with admin moderation before publication.
• Document sharing for PDFs, Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
Apple iWork files (Pages, Numbers, Keynote), images, and DICOM
studies. Documents render inline; no third-party viewer needed.
• Searchable archives — every shared message, document, voice note,
meeting recording is indexed and searchable across all your groups.
• End-to-end secure delivery, with optional Google Drive backup of
your own chat history.
• App lock with biometric unlock, blocked-users list, per-chat
disappearing messages, message starring, and bulk forwarding.
PRIVACY AND PROFESSIONALISM
NephX is for professional academic discussion among nephrology
practitioners. It is not a clinical decision-support tool, not a
direct-to-patient telemedicine product, and not for diagnostic use.
We expect members to follow their hospital's data-handling and
patient-confidentiality policies in every conversation. NephX never
asks for, stores, or transmits identifiable patient data — discussion
should always be anonymised in accordance with your jurisdiction's
clinical guidelines.
We collect only the data needed to operate the service: your phone
number for sign-in, your medical credentials for verification, the
messages and documents you choose to send, and minimal device
information for push notifications and crash reporting. We never sell
data, never share it with advertisers, and never use your content for
AI training without explicit consent.

clinical practice, transplant, paediatric, interventional, and
academic backgrounds. Members include consultants, fellows, senior
residents, and DM/DNB trainees. Eligibility is verified against the
appropriate Medical Council registry (state, national, or
international equivalent) during onboarding.
