About this app

The Netcraft app protects you from phishing and web-based malware attacks on your mobile device. The app will block all known attacks whilst you browse the web.

Although major desktop web browsers have effective anti-phishing protection, the same is not true of mobile equivalents. The Netcraft app allows you to benefit from phishing protection on your mobile device, taking advantage of Netcraft's constantly updated phishing site feed. Over 177 million phishing sites have been detected and blocked by our community to date [June 2023].

The Netcraft app offers free protection for a 28 day trial, after which a monthly or annual subscription is required. The app can be used to report phish to Netcraft without a subscription.

✔ Block phishing and web-based malware attacks whilst browsing the web
✔ Report phishing attacks to help protect others and climb the Netcraft leaderboard
✔ View your block history and stats to see how Netcraft has protected you

Supported apps:

The Netcraft app protects you in popular browsers and applications, and our free trial lets you confirm that all your favourite apps are supported.

In order to protect you, the Netcraft app requires the following permissions:
• Accessibility service: to check for malicious URLs whilst you browse the web, and to block phishing sites

Device encryption

When you enable Netcraft's protection, your device may disable device encryption. This applies to all applications which use accessibility services. If you use device encryption, simply ensure it is re-enabled after enabling protection in the Netcraft app.

Doesn't do what it's supposed to do. Supposedly detects phishing messages. Except that I've been receiving heaps of phishing messages and NOT A SINGLE MESSAGE was detected. I even went to report instances of phishing and still doesn't function as advertised. I conclude this app does nothing apart from charging you a small monthly fee.

Typing in the suspect URL doesn't seem to be enough info to help. Maybe if one could send a screenshot of the " Phish Bait " post. I'd like to see that option added to the app.

Hi John, thanks for your feedback! Just to let you know, you can 'share' URLs directly from your browser which will fill in the report for you, rather than having to type them out. On Chrome, for example, you can tap the three dots in the top right corner, tap 'Share', then 'Report phish' to the Netcraft app.

It seems like this app doesn't really do anything. I installed it two months ago. Since then I had so many phishing messages and I didn't receive even a single alert. So I have installed another one called redfox anti phishing and this one gets the work done
