About this app

iBreviary is the application that brings the traditional Catholic prayer of the Breviary and all the texts of the Liturgy on your smartphone and tablet.
This app wants to contribute, through a partnership with Custody of the Holy Land, friendship and prayer for all Christians living Holy Places.

iBreviary contains:
• Breviary, Missal and Lectionary complete in 10 languages and continuously updated (Italian, English, Spanish, French, Romanian, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Latin and Galician)
• The text of the Breviary and the Missal in the "Latin Vetus Ordo" and Latin
• All the main prayers of the Christian
• Rituals for the sacraments and celebrations
• The liturgical texts used in the Holy Land

• The section, "Rites", with all the rituals and texts for the various celebrations Catholic (Adoration of the Eucharist, the Sacraments, Blessings, etc.)

Ratings and reviews

New update sucks! 1: If you switch from portrait to landscape mode, it returns you to the top of the page. Want to switch to landscape mode once you hit the readings in Office of readings? Too bad! 2: the formatting buttons on the upper right are too opaque to read through. That means it just have to not scroll that high on the screen. 3: I haven't been able to download days ahead of time since the new app. the "download whole week" button does nothing. these need fixes ASAP.

Having all the texts for the Hours is great, especially in multiple languages. It would be even better if there was a side by side Latin - English option and if there was an option to set reminders in the app for certain hours so it would send a notification to prompt you to pray at a certain time.

IT WAS GREAT... I had used iBreviary all the time prior to the latest auto update to ver. 4.1.6 (Dec '25) and Now it Never works. It only has Initialization errors & never opens, no matter how many times app is reloaded, (Android 11.0) Need old ver. back or debug! If there isn't going to be a BUG fix to Correct this version's "Initialization Error" Problems, could I somehow get a copy of the previous working release, so I could use it again??? Like I said the previous version worked GREAT!

What’s new

This new version brings a new controller for when the text to speech is running, allowing you to move across the paragraphs so you can choose when to start reading, or skipping to a precise point in the texts.
A new tutorial section is added for both the existing and new users, accessible via the info section from the home page.
