About this app
Harbor is an IRC client for Android, for people who used mIRC on a computer. Add an IRC server, join a channel, and keep private messages on this phone. The commands you already know still work. Harbor talks directly to the server you enter. There is no Harbor account, and the conversation is not routed through a Harbor server.
A channel keeps its topic and its lines. The people list shows who is here and who is away. A private chat opens when someone writes to you. A window you have not read keeps a badge, and you can return to the first new line. Nicknames in the room complete as you type. Hold a line to copy it, or to quote it back into the channel. Mute a channel and the messages stay, without a sound or a badge. Ignore a nickname on that network and those lines stay out.
A photo is sent only when you choose one. Harbor uploads it so the room can open the link, asks that the file last one hour, and does not keep a copy.
Networks, passwords, and the chat history you save stay on this phone. A server password, and the password for SASL, NickServ, or CService, is stored on the phone and sent only to the network you added, as part of the normal login. Use the secure SSL port when the network offers one. The fingerprint, or the lock already on the phone, can protect Harbor when you step away.
Menus and settings are available in English, Italian, French, German, and Romanian. Harbor starts in the language of the phone when that language is one of these. You can follow the phone's appearance, or choose day or night, and you can set the text size.
The free plan includes one server for 30 minutes a day. The connection pauses while Harbor is in the background. Harbor Plus is a one-time purchase. It removes the daily limit, lets you add more than one server, connects to a ZNC bouncer you already run, keeps your servers connected in the background, and includes a backup of servers and messages. Google handles the payment.
