About this app

BubbleRead turns copied text into speech so you can listen instead of read. Whether you're commuting, cooking, exercising, or just giving your eyes a break, simply copy text from any app, paste it into BubbleRead, and press play.

BubbleRead doesn't require an account or a subscription. Android TTS works offline right away, while AI voices and AI autocorrect use your own OpenAI account and API key.

⭐ Features

• Two voice provider options: Android or OpenAI
• Floating bubble overlay, to easily copy paste
• Autocorrect text with AI for better speech quality
• Settings to customize your experience

🎙 Android TTS

Use the text-to-speech voices already installed on your Android device. Everything runs offline, and no account is required. Adjust speech rate and pitch to find the voice that feels most comfortable.

✨ OpenAI TTS

Use OpenAI's natural-sounding voices with support for many languages. Choose from 12 voices with selectable gender.

An OpenAI account and API key are required. Your API key is stored securely on your device and is sent only to OpenAI when generating speech. BubbleRead does not operate any servers for text processing, and you pay OpenAI directly for your API usage.

✍️ OpenAI Autocorrect

Automatically correct grammatical errors, spelling, and missing diacritics with AI before your text is read aloud, so the speech sounds clean and natural. Choose between multiple models to balance correction quality, speed, and cost.

An OpenAI account and API key are required. You can reuse the same key as for OpenAI TTS. Autocorrect requests are billed directly by OpenAI based on your API usage.

🫧 Floating Bubble

Enable the optional floating bubble to access BubbleRead from anywhere. When you copy text in another app, tap the bubble and BubbleRead opens, pastes the copied text, and starts reading automatically.

The bubble can be moved anywhere on the screen and can be enabled or disabled at any time.

🎁 Free Trial & Unlock

Every feature includes a free trial so you can try the app before purchasing: both voice providers and OpenAI Autocorrect. After a trial ends, unlock unlimited use of that feature with a single one-time Google Play purchase. There are no subscriptions.

Please note that OpenAI does not provide free API usage. To try and use OpenAI voices or autocorrect, you'll need to add credits to your OpenAI account, and API usage charges are billed directly by OpenAI. Subscription is not required. At the time of writing the minimum credit topup was $5.

⚙️ Settings

• Floating bubble — Enable or disable the overlay.
• Auto-play on paste — Start reading automatically after text is pasted from the bubble.
• Android TTS — Adjust speech rate and pitch.
• OpenAI TTS — Choose a voice and securely manage your API key.
• Autocorrect — Enable or disable AI text correction and choose the correction model.
Listen to copied text seamlessly. Pay for what you use, without subscriptions.
