Amazed by Prisma's AI! The developer's thought of implementing such a complex algorithm which comprises of outstanding edge line detection and color processing, make these artistic filters look amazing! Just as online farm rendering in 3DS Max & other 3D Applications, I was amazed, as the image data is sent to their servers to do these insane computations, to which our phones take several hours to get the images processed. Hoping Prisma would upgrade it's servers in the coming days to meet the demand. 😉
A very well done and simple photo editor. The only issue I can find is the quality of saved images; they often come out a bit pixelated like they had been zoomed in too much. The issue with that is that there was no zooming, the photos saved at the same size as the source image. Downsizing them helps, but you have to shrink them significantly. If this can get fixed it'd easily be a five-star app, and It's still entirely worth checking out.
Edit...Better have one hell of a phone... This app eats processing power and if you aint got it, it wont be fun. Some filters take forever, some never finish and it just takes away the enjoyment of trying different filters. However, after trying it out for a bit, it works much better with lower rez images and is quicker overall. It does decrease image quality as well after filter is applied. Cropping in app takes forever. You can press the blue checkmark and you just have to wait... Should at least pop up and say "Cropping..." so you know its working. For now, i just crop outside app.
Edit: Seriously! When will the server issue be fixed. It's been months since I made this post and Im now adding an edit to way that I still REGULARLY have issues using Prisma because "There are too many people using Prisma". BOOOO! I LOVE this app! But, unfortunately VERY frequently I have to wait forever for the picture to load, or I'm told there are too many people trying to use the app at once. This happens almost every time, so while I love the app...I can't use it often.
The filters are beautiful and innovative! The app seems to have been made for instagram. Borrowing their filter UI was smart but I'd love to use non-square photos too. Bug: unable to sign up for the feed with email. I see "You're logged in" and "Open app" in my browser but the app is not logged in.
I'm liking this a lot! Really cool app! TIP: If this app tells you that it's detecting a screen overlay, & you use iSwipe, or CM Swipe, turn them off & you'll be able to use Prisma. UPDATE: takes pretty long to load up the artwork! This app requires patience to use, lol. UPDATE 2: is it broken? It's not loading the artwork at all for me. ???!!!
We are now launching a new unique style every day!
Looking forward to what you'll create,
Prisma team with love :)
