Shahnameh (Book of Kings) by Hakim Abol-Qasem Ferdowsi (935–1020) is one of the greatest masterpieces of Persian literature.

Ferdowsi spent more than thirty years creating this immortal epic, which tells the history, legends, heroes and kings of ancient Iran and Central Asia.

According to Ferdowsi, Shahnameh contains around 60,000 verses and is one of the most valuable works of world literature.
