About this app
BrainAccess Mobile is the Android app for BrainAccess EEG headsets: HALO, MINI, MIDI and MAXI. Connect over Bluetooth, check electrode contact, watch the live signal, record it and stream it to a computer.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Scan for headsets and connect over Bluetooth Low Energy, several headsets at once.
• Check electrode contact before you record: the impedance of every electrode on a head map.
• Watch the live EEG with band-pass and notch display filters, adjustable window, spectrum (PSD), accelerometer and markers.
• See the signal quality of every electrode, what is wrong with a channel and how to fix it.
• Record to BDF+ or CSV with markers and snapshots. Bluetooth gaps are marked in the file instead of written as silent zeros.
• Browse, review, share and delete recordings on the phone.
• Stream live to any computer on your network over LSL (Lab Streaming Layer), for BrainAccess Board, LabRecorder, Python and other LSL tools. Off until you switch it on.
• Keep streaming and recording with the screen off; the notification has Marker and Stop.
• Set the sample rate, gain, active channels and electrode labels of each headset.
• Update the headset's firmware over the air.
RAW DATA IN PHYSICAL UNITS
Display filters change only what you see. Recordings and the LSL stream always carry the raw signal in microvolts and the accelerometer in m/s²: the same units as the BrainAccess Python API and BrainAccess Board.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No accounts, no advertising, no analytics service and no trackers. EEG and recordings stay on your phone and are excluded from cloud backup. The only request the app makes to Neurotechnology is a firmware update check, which carries the app version and the connected headset's model and serial number.
