About this app

Radio E.C.Z. was born in the 1990s when the entry into force of the "Mammì" law imposed the reorganization, from a legislative point of view, of the radio and television sector left, up to that moment, in the most complete disorder. The desire in the Diocese of Brescia was to allow the survival of the myriad of parish radios that radiated their signal on the diocesan territory and that by virtue of the new ministerial provisions were already sentenced to death. The goal that was intended to be pursued was therefore to keep alive the important voice of the individual parish communities in the area.
In 1993 with the accession of 64 (today about 60) priests was born with the legal status of Association, the ECZ, broadcaster to which each parish priest gave up their respective radio systems, assuming the role of partner and agreeing to finance the radio thanks to a annual membership fee. In the same period, the newspaper was registered, which for years was led by the then Director of Social Communications, Fr Eridano Torri. The goal that since then has been stubbornly pursued was to make this station a radio in the service of the parishes, creating a dense network of information passed by the same members or by their delegates to the central editorial staff. In short, the E.C.Z. it should have played the role of communication tool to and from the territory in a pastoral and journalistic sense.
Then, in 2001, the ministerial authorization for differentiation arrived, which recognizes the possibility of each member managing independently some moments of the programming, even if in pre-established time slots. There are 4 hours and 55 minutes available daily. For the rest of the day, there is an obligation to transmit the programming made at the headquarters.
Today, the E.C.Z has its own well-defined identity and schedule. A generalist schedule, yes, but that aims to make it more and more a valid radio at the service of the territory.
