What are Noa's editorial principles?
1. Multiple Perspectives: Offer multiple perspectives from trusted sources and empower listeners to make up their own minds on where they stand on a topic.
2. Thought-provoking: Present audio articles that inform, inspire, and offer fresh insights, through both a global and a national lens. Focus on opinion, feature, and analysis articles.
3. Storytellers: Be storytellers and educators. Help our listeners understand global topics, and perspectives, while also telling the stories of the people behind the headlines.
4. Global Impact: Ensure coverage and raise awareness of important topics, regardless of a topics popularity or ability to drive “clicks”.
5. Fourth Estate: Uphold journalism’s values as a democratic check on power. And always celebrate great journalism.
6. Embrace Complexity: Encourage thought and avoid black and white explanations that aren't followed with depth. The world is complicated and can seldom be explained in minutes. Our goal is to help listeners navigate it.

If you like audiobooks and podcasts, this app is good for listening to articles that you might not have access to, or have time to read online. On downside, my Android phone repeatedly pops up "App has stopped responding" messages. with option to Close or Wait. Which interrupts listening. Also, there are lists of articles one day, and if you don't listen to all of them, the next day, app automatically loads a new updated list .. making it hard to find an article you saw yesterday but..

I love this app but wish it operated a little more quickly. Also, it would be great to have the option to bookmark the articles we really enjoy and want to revisit. And the annoying system asking me to rate it all the time when I open the app is really frustrating. EDITED TO ADD: I found out how to bookmark/save articles, but wish it was easier to save an article. Love the app otherwise.

i like the concept, but the app seems pretty non-functional to me. despite having set my preferences several times it continues to put up a "set your preferences" popup over everything. the whole "choose N or more" nonsense is really annoying, i don't want to make these choices ahead of time, i just want to browse. after just randomly picking nonsense to get the pref to go away i downloaded a few articles i wanted to listen to offline, and then i couldn't find the downloaded content anywhere.

Hi Dean - fair points. We can add a 'skip' option for sure. There was a bug whereby the app repeatedly asked you to set preferences, which is now fixed. As for downloads, you can access them in Library > Articles. Please do give the app another go and reach out to me (Gareth) at gareth [at] newsoveraudio [dot] com.

What’s new

- Three new publishers: Foreign Policy, Lawfare and IEEE Spectrum.
