We are experiencing the deepest technological revolution in history and the way we communicate between people is changing. Doubts with the security of the information, with the handling of devices especially by elderly people were frequently commented barriers.
However, scientific evidence and technological advances, produced in recent years, are causing the healthcare world to rapidly incorporate new forms of communication between professionals and patients. The security of information is completely guaranteed and older people easily and assiduously use telematic means in different areas of their lives. It can be said that telemedicine has reached sanity. And it has come to stay as it will be seen in the coming years.
In addition, both health professionals and the general population demand greater training and autonomy for self-care of the patient, an aspect in which telemedicine can also contribute a lot. Likewise, chronic health problems are increasingly frequent in our society and require continuous monitoring where telemedicine also brings a lot of value.
