About this app

Bahasa AI is a mobile application for learning Bahasa Melayu. This app focuses on the Malay language as spoken in Malaysia in all aspects. These include pronunciation, vocabulary and language structure. The learning process includes:

1. The user listens to conversational audio to build up vocabulary and also gets the feeling of how the words are used in a conversational context. Vocabulary is gradually being built up from zero to over 2000 words, more than enough for normal daily conversations.

2. Listening to the audio of Bahasa Melayu sentences, translating them into English as audio, and getting real-time feedback from the AI Tutor.

3. The user selects English sentences, translates them into Bahasa Melayu and uploads the audio for real-time feedback by the AI Tutor.

4. The user selects a word from the vocabulary list learnt in the Module, constructs sentences in Bahasa Melayu, and uploads the audio for real-time feedback by the AI Tutor.

5. Using the "Tanya Cikgu" (Ask the teacher) facility to explain matters that are still unclear to the user

6. Using the "Jom Cakap" (Let's talk) facility to have a real-time voice conversation with the AI Tutor.

7. The whole learning process focuses on speaking, and this will enhance the process of learning.

The app has abundant materials for learning Bahasa Melayu, for beginners as well as intermediate level learners. In addition to conversations, users will also learn from pantuns (Malay poetry), popular Malay songs, and peribahasa (proverbs). In addition to learning the language, these are also entry points for learning about Malay culture.
