Sunsets Left turns a public life table into a single number: the count of sunsets remaining for someone your age, in your country. Watch it stand still all day, then fall by one as tonight's sun slips below the horizon.

THE NUMBER IS SUGGESTED FROM DATA
• Computed from your exact age using the Social Security Administration's period life table (United States) or the WHO Global Health Observatory tables (everywhere else).
• Conditional life expectancy, done properly: surviving another year genuinely earns you a little more, which is why the number sometimes ticks up on your birthday.
• Recalculated every time you open the app. No cached guesses.

A REAL SUNSET, NOT MIDNIGHT
The count changes at the moment the sun's disc disappears below your horizon — computed astronomically for your location's time zone. The sky in the app follows the real sun: daylight, golden hour, the setting itself, afterglow, night. An exact alarm rolls the count at the true sunset moment, even with the app closed.
