Nighthawk is a Shielded-by-Default wallet for Zcash with Spend-before-Sync support & Auto-Shielding technology. As a Z-address(Shielded) native wallet for preserving Privacy, funds can be sent out via your Shielded Address only.
Zcash is a digital currency, or cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin. (In fact, Zcash was built on the original Bitcoin code base.) It was conceived by scientists at MIT, Johns Hopkins and other respected academic and scientific institutions.

As a non-custodial wallet for Zcash, you have sole responsibility over its funds. Please immediately and securely back up the seed words upon creating a wallet.
As a light wallet, Nighthawk requires trust in the lightwalletd server to display accurate transaction information.

The app doesn't work. Used it once for the NFT mint. Since then I've reinstalled and recovered from seed. After ~12hr of syncing I finally see transaction history but don't have access to funds. Wallet perpetually syncs & upon reaching 100% it'll restart at slightly higher % then the last resync. Switch servers and start all over again. Seems like a good way to burn ZEC supply. I love the idea of ZEC but take this off z.cash website.

Hello, Sorry to hear about your experience with restoring the wallet. Older wallets may take longer for a first time sync due to the spam attack on the network. The following sync ups are faster and switching servers requires checking for the latest block and chain status.

Maybe more robust settings options like lock with fingerprints or a pass code. Maybe a big green button under the send Zcash for a recieve Zcash button. Don't like the side shift button where something more useful could be, like a switch between USD/ZEC balance view, that would be HUGE(same for sending, ; visual $$ amounts will help interface.) These are tiny nags, tested small amounts a couple times, it works like a wallet should, privacy is a must!

Thanks for your feedback! Please update the wallet to the latest version 1.0.24 to see Pin code & Face/Touch ID support. We will continue to improve the UX based on feedback.

Send money to this wallet and never see it again! Dec 2023 update. I open my new wallet on my tracfone and it doesn't see the 2 tx I sent. I open the app on my samsung phone and it does. Is there a dependable ZEC wallet out there somewhere? Every one i use seems like a hobby project.

Hey Matt, Please connect with us to resolve the issue. Did you happen to send ZEC to your T-address? If yes, please tap on "Available Balance" and click Shield Funds after syncing to move your transparent ZEC to Shielded ZEC.
