About this app

NightLog Pro is a night flight time calculator for pilots. It works out how much of a flight counts as night under EASA Part-FCL and the FAA: the figure you write in your logbook.

Enter your departure and arrival airports and your off-blocks and on-blocks times. The app samples your position once a minute along a great-circle route, calculates the sun's elevation at each point, and counts the minutes that fall below the regulatory threshold.

WORKS FULLY OFFLINE
Everything lives on your device: the calculation engine, all 17,000 airports, and the world map. No signal needed at the gate, in the crew room, or at 38,000 feet.

BOTH STANDARDS, SIDE BY SIDE
• Civil Twilight Night: sun below −6°, the EASA Part-FCL and FAA 14 CFR 1.1 definition, and the number you log
• Sunset to Sunrise: sun below −0.83°, the FAA 14 CFR 91.209 position-lights window, shown as a reference

BUILT FOR SPEED
• Type 2230, get 22:30: a number pad, not a clock dial
• Type an ICAO code and the airport selects itself
• A logbook of up to 200 calculations, one tap away

SHOWS ITS WORKING
• A solar intercept map with your great-circle route and the exact points where you crossed each threshold
• A flight timeline banded into night, twilight and day
• A plain-English breakdown of how the figure was reached, so you can check it rather than trust it

FOR THE DETAILS
• Taxi-out and taxi-in time counted into the block
• Same-airport flights, for night circuits and currency
• Optional flight level, which applies the horizon dip at cruise. Offered as a reference, since both regulators define night at surface level

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, no ads, no identifier. Your flights, times and airports never leave your phone. The app sends only optional anonymous usage counts, never your flights, and you can switch them off in Settings → Privacy.
