In today’s dating app world, singles are frustrated by endless small talk with pen pals, overwhelmed by a large number of matches, and rarely—if ever—actually meeting for a real date. First Round’s On Me is changing the online dating game. We created an app that’s designed to get you off the app and meet, in person, for a real date.



* We give you a sense of who someone is. You’ll get to know potential dates through their profile which includes photos, a bio, their unique answers to prompts, and other information including their personal preferences.



* When you see someone you like, you send them a date invite as the first point of contact by choosing a type of drink, a day & time, and a venue. We make it simple to plan your first date, and we believe in being intentional with who you ask out rather than mindlessly swiping!



* The receiver can accept, decline, or suggest a different date if they want to do something other than what the sender suggested.



* Once the date is confirmed, the two users are locked in on their calendars for that day. The in-app messaging function only opens up 12 hours before your date is scheduled to start. We believe in getting to know someone in person rather than trying to through your phone screen.



* Once you meet in person for your date, the rest is up to you. You got this!

Ratings and reviews

Very interesting concept but needs a lot more work. I understand that this app is relatively new. Cons: There are not enough users on this app It is only available in 3 locations: NYC, LA and Miami. UI starts looping during sign up page. Pro (so far) Has an option to sign up with Google, Facebook and phone number.

I am hopeful to use the platform, as of now it had 8 or 10 cities to choose from. Seattle not being one of them. I'll keep checking in as they grow, the idea of actually meeting with a match seems like it should be common sense but it seems the other apps would rather have pen pals. I'm excited to see where this platform goes, as of now it's useless to me but hopefully soon...

The closest location they offered was Austin or Miami. I am in Florida, but in a different city than miami. :/
