About this app

AuthBud is a two-factor authentication (2FA) app that keeps your one-time codes secure, organized and always at hand.

ORGANIZED YOUR WAY
• Groups and subgroups of unlimited depth, with a breadcrumb path at the top
• Move accounts and groups freely – deleting a group never deletes its accounts
• Favorites section on the home screen for the codes you use most
• Sort by name, by usage or by date added
• Normal or compact view
• Search through the current group and all of its subgroups

CODES
• TOTP and HOTP, SHA1 / SHA256 / SHA512, 6–8 digits, custom period
• Tap an account to copy its code – on Android 13+ it is marked as sensitive and hidden from the clipboard preview
• Countdown ring turns red in the last 5 seconds, and the next code is shown in advance

ADD ACCOUNTS IN SECONDS
• Scan a QR code with the camera or from an image (e.g. a screenshot)
• Manual entry with advanced options

SWITCH WITHOUT RETYPING
Import your accounts from other apps, with a preview before import, account selection, target group choice and duplicate detection:
• Google Authenticator (export QR codes, multiple parts supported)
• Aegis – plain and encrypted
• 2FAS – plain and encrypted
• andOTP – plain and encrypted
• FreeOTP+, Authenticator Pro, Bitwarden, Proton Authenticator, Ente Auth

Groups, folders, categories and favorites are carried over wherever the source format supports them.

ENCRYPTED BACKUP
• Password-protected backup file with all accounts, groups and favorites (PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 + AES-256-GCM)
• Restore keeps the whole group tree and skips duplicates
• Plain-text export (otpauth:// links) for moving to another app, with a clear warning

SECURITY FIRST
• Secret keys are encrypted with an AES-256 key stored in the Android Keystore – the key never leaves the secure hardware
• App lock with fingerprint, face or device PIN
• Hide codes until tapped, with an adjustable reveal time
• Screenshots and the recent-apps preview are blocked
• No ads, no advertising ID
• Optional anonymous statistics contain only technical data (screen names, counts, durations, crash reports) – never secrets, codes or account names. Turn them off with a single switch.

YOUR LANGUAGE
Available in 18 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Turkish, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian and Serbian (Latin and Cyrillic). On Android 13+ you can choose the app language separately from the system language.

Microsoft Authenticator, Authy and LastPass do not allow exporting codes, so accounts from those apps have to be added again manually.
