Everyone gets the same picture. Almost.
Nearly Same is a pass-and-play party game for 3 to 12 players on one phone: a social deduction group game where you find the spy with pictures instead of words. Everyone secretly looks at a picture, but one player gets a nearly identical one: say, a wolf instead of a dog, or a panda instead of a koala. The twist: they don't know they're the odd one out either.
HOW TO PLAY
• Pass the phone around. Hold to peek at your picture, then let go to hide it.
• Go around twice. Each player says one real word about their picture, never its name. For an elephant, "grey" works. "Trunk" gives it away.
• Discuss, then everyone points at the player they think is the spy. A tie? The tied players say one more word, and you vote again.
• Flip to reveal both pictures side by side. Catch the spy, or watch them blend in.
PLAY A WHOLE GAME NIGHT
• Play 3, 5 or 7 rounds with the same group: points for catching the spy, and for staying hidden.
• The scoreboard keeps the totals after every round, and the final results crown the winner of the night.
• First time playing? Five quick intro cards and an example round show how to play.
WHY GROUPS LOVE IT
• Pictures, not words to read: great for mixed-language groups (the app speaks English and Vietnamese).
• Nobody knows they're the different one, so everyone has to listen and bluff a little.
• Quick rounds and a discussion timer you can change.
• Great for game night, family gatherings, road trips and icebreakers.
