Nine Casino looks like an ordinary swap board until you notice the little number in the corner of every place. That number is how many sweets are stacked there. You can only ever touch the one on top. Swap two neighbouring tops, line up three or more of a kind, and those tops come off, and what was hiding underneath each of them is suddenly the sweet you are playing with.

Nothing falls and nothing is added. A place that gives up its last sweet becomes an empty square and stays empty for the rest of the crate, and emptying places is the whole job. Each crate asks you to open a set number of them inside a set number of swaps.

That turns every match into two decisions instead of one. A line of three across the middle of the crate is fine, but a line of three that happens to sit on the three places you have already dug down to one layer is worth three empty squares at once. Reading the depth numbers is the skill, because the board you see and the board you are actually working towards are two different things.

Cascades are the reward for reading well. When the tops come off, the sweets revealed underneath are placed instantly, and if they happen to line up the crate keeps clearing on its own with a bigger Nine Casino bonus at every step.
