Ningú immerses the player in a platforming and puzzle adventure. The goal is to guide the enigmatic protagonist through various levels to save their former home in the heart of a now-withered forest. To achieve this, the player must find the faces of the grove's former inhabitants: masks that grant the player new abilities.
The player must use the masks, and the powers they bestow, to adapt to the challenges of each puzzle and solve them. Some puzzles require only one mask, while others demand the player swap several throughout, putting their ingenuity to the test.
The masks are not merely objects that grant abilities. The remnants of the creatures they once were cling to them, and the player can hear them. Not all are happy to accompany the player, but they nonetheless reveal the story of what once was a magnificent forest.
Each mask possesses, in addition to its respective ability, its own unique personality. The Bear Mask, wrathful, grants the strength to leap and drag gigantic boulders. The nostalgic Deer Mask reveals the forest as it once was, before its destruction. The Salmon Mask, wise and gentle, allows you to see the ancient runes carved to conceal hidden passageways.
