About this app

Nirman is the official app of GMS Jain Jewellers Private Limited (Ludhiana, Punjab — established 1965).

Anyone can use Nirman to check today's live gold and silver rates in Indian rupees — no account, no sign-up, no permissions. Nirman also includes a secure staff portal for our authorised sales staff, field marketers, and administrators. Staff accounts are created only by GMS Jain Jewellers administrators; there is no public sign-up.

WHAT THE APP DOES

• Live Gold & Silver Rates (open to everyone) — View current 24K, 22K, 20K and 18K gold rates and the silver price in INR, refreshed through the day from live market data. No login, location, camera, or personal data is involved.

• Inventory & Sales Scanning (staff login) — Scan QR codes and barcodes on jewellery items using the device camera (powered by Google ML Kit, fully on-device — no images leave your phone). Staff can look up an item, log a sale, process a return, or submit a product requirement.

• Attendance with GPS & Photo Verification (staff login) — Field staff mark check-in and check-out. Each entry captures the current GPS location plus an optional verification photograph.

• Field Visit Tracking (staff login) — While a staff member is on duty and logged in, the app shares the device's GPS location with the company server every five minutes so administrators can verify customer visits, plan routes, and confirm territory coverage. A persistent on-screen notification ("Nirman — Location Active") informs the user at all times when location sharing is active.

• Sales Dashboard (staff login) — View personal sales summaries, attendance history, and assigned product requirements.

The rates shown are indicative reference rates based on live market data, for general information only. They are not an offer to buy or sell and are not the final counter price. The actual in-store price varies with making charges, GST, hallmarking, design, weight and purity. Please confirm the final price at our counter.

WHY THESE PERMISSIONS ARE REQUIRED

Permissions are requested only from authorised staff after they log in — never from the public viewing rates, and never at app launch.

• Location (foreground & background): Requested only after a staff member logs in and accepts an in-app disclosure. Required to verify field-staff visits and track sales-marketer routes through the working day. Background access is needed because staff visit multiple customers across different locations while the app is often not on screen.

• Camera: Requested only when a logged-in staff member opens the barcode scanner or attendance check-in screen. The camera is never silently activated, and never used for public rate viewing.

• Foreground-service notification: While location is shared, a persistent notification is shown at all times so staff always know when location is active.

PRIVACY & DATA HANDLING

Viewing rates collects no personal data and no location, and creates no account. For staff, all data is encrypted via HTTPS; login is protected by bcrypt password hashing, single-device session enforcement, rate limiting, and reCAPTCHA. Location logs are retained for up to 12 months, then automatically deleted. Users may request deletion of their account and all data at any time via our Data Deletion page.

We do NOT sell, rent, share, or disclose your data to any third party for advertising, marketing, or analytics. There are no ads and no third-party tracking SDKs.
