Earthquake Monitor is an independent application for browsing and tracking recent earthquake activity around the world. It maps past seismic events in an easy-to-read list and interactive map interface, utilizing public data feeds published by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

All displayed seismic data represents events that have already been recorded and processed by the official source feed.



Key Features:

Global Activity Mapping:

View recent worldwide earthquakes on an interactive map or a clean, chronological list.



Custom Filtering:

Filter events instantly by magnitude thresholds, custom timeframes (past hour, day, week, or month), and significance.



Detailed Event Data:

Tap any event to inspect its recorded magnitude, depth, exact geographic coordinates, and last updated timestamp.



Official Reports:

Access direct, deep-linking shortcuts straight to the official USGS event webpage for comprehensive geological breakdowns.



On-Device Watch Areas:

Set up an optional, localized watch zone on your device. Receive a notification if a newly published historical event from the USGS feed falls inside your zone. Note: Watch area calculations are processed locally on your phone after a public feed update. They do not provide incoming, real-time warning alerts, and your coordinates never leave your device.



Strict Privacy Commitment:

Zero Tracking:

No user accounts, no integrated ads, and no background analytics packages.



No Server Data Leakage:

We do not operate external databases or servers that receive, harvest, or process your information.



Optional Location Permissions:

Approximate location access is strictly optional. If granted, it is solely used to center the local map interface on your current area. Google Maps handles map rendering; please refer to standard map safety policies for external rendering data.

Superb app

Just had 8 quakes in town and the map doesn't show them, the list doesn't show them, an alert came in, but it said the same thing it's been saying since I installed it, "Medford Oklahoma" over and over. I'm in Reno Nevada.

Great for providing updates on earthquakes around the world... Very useful if you would like to know potentially dangerous earthquakes.
