Fantastic Great app, well worth the money. I've been playing backgammon for years and this has taken it to a new level for me. Ignore those complaining about cheating - if they don't understand the statistics of randomness then backgammon is the wrong game for them.
Recommended As a student of the game I have to say I rate this app highly. AI is world class, appearance and game play are smooth and easy. My only criticism is that you sometimes have to wait a while for an online game.
Really top game. At higher level it is hard to beat! Best backgammon program I have found. It can play an incredible back game which I love to compete against! April 2014.....however I wonder why my opening throw is so often 6 & 3. At least 1 in every 3 games. Also when bearing off the computer gets more than its fair share of double 6s.
Much better than what I used before While there is an issue with the frequency of double dice for both AI and human, this app seems to have fairer AI than the app I used before. Note that you can use manual dice here if you so choose. The higher skill level actually seems like a better player as opposed to relying on the extremely fortunate dice rolls that are the hallmark of many other apps. I wish one could customize the look of the board, but this is minor. Bottom line, this is worth paying for.
The playing logic is excellent. The only problem is the frequency of doubles. Especially 4.4. But you can roll your own dice if you want. 4-4 happened 3.10% when it should be happening 2.78%. That doesn't sound like much, but it's noticeable. Every other double result is very close to the expected 2.78% rate. Also, I can view the next 100 rolls, and too often there are 30 or more sets of doubles in the queue. At the moment, there are only 10 doubles in the next 100 rolls. One person will get 7 of them (14%) the other person will get 3 (Just 6%!!!). I just checked a second installation my tablet. Of the next 100 rolls, 15 are doubles. But 10 of 50 go to one person (20%) and 5 of 50 go to the other person (10%). Sounds like a problem to me. When I roll my own dice, my chances of winning are greater, but that's just impossible to do unless I'm playing at home. The playing logic is excellent, but I'd like to be able to "undo" more than the current move. That would help me get better, and every now and then your finger makes a mistake and you want to take it back but can't. Also, when you eventually allow us to make more than one undo, the rolls need to change.
Excellent Had this on ios now 2 years on android great stuff, a well made app that has improved in the 5 years I have used it. Thank you for this app.
- Fixed bug in analysis mode where doubling errors for the game immediately following the Crawford game were not being recognized.
