The content of this program is "Explanation of Taiwanese Trees" co-authored by Lu Fuyuan, Ou Chenxiong, and Lu Jincheng. The original book is divided into five volumes and was published by the Council of Agriculture of the Executive Yuan from 1997 to 2001. Later, the Executive Yuan promoted the "National Science and Technology Plan for Digital Learning" and made the original book content public in web format. This program was born because the format of web pages is not conducive to reading and querying on mobile phones, and laptops are inconvenient to carry in the field.
The five original volumes of the book contain explanations of 994 plant species and nearly 1,700 pictures, all of which are built into the program and do not require Internet access.
The original book was published in 2001. It has been more than ten years. During this period, the scientific names of plants may have changed. Therefore, the scientific names should be based on the "Taiwan Native Plant Database" published by the "Biodiversity Research Center of Academia Sinica" as the standard. However, if this is not possible, For comparison, the original book information shall prevail.
