About this app

Moonless Field Log is a focused companion for backyard astronomers and curious night-sky observers. Build a practical plan before stepping outside, explore a field-tested atlas of 16 rewarding objects, and keep every observation on your device.

Use the adjustable sky-readiness score to match a target to the evening. Open detailed field cards for equipment guidance, seasonal windows, magnitude, difficulty, and specific eyepiece cues. Mark objects as observed as your personal atlas grows.

Record session duration, sky quality, target, and a useful field note. The Field Kit checklist helps you remember red light, warm layers, an atlas, spare power, and other essentials. Insights turn your local records into clear totals, atlas completion, favorite object category, average sky quality, and a meaningful next milestone.

Everything works offline. Your target progress, checklist, settings, and journal remain locally stored and can be edited or reset whenever you choose. No account is required—just a darker patch of sky and a few unhurried minutes at the eyepiece.
