About this app

You've probably walked past someone who'd find your obscure interest fascinating — and neither of you knew.

That's what nodepiazza is for! Write down what you're into — music, hiking, a specific board game, whatever. When another phone running the app comes within Bluetooth range — a café, a classroom, the same train carriage — the two phones swap interest lists in the background. If you have something in common, you show up in each other's "Nearby" list. Tap to chat.

**No servers. No accounts. No internet.**
Everything happens between the phones in the room. Messages travel directly, device to device.

**Smart matching, on your phone.**
A small language model (Gemma 4) runs on-device and does the matching, so the matching works across languages and phrasing. No need for similar or exact wording.

**You stay in control.**
- Public interests are the only thing shared with nearby phones, and only while scanning is on.
- Private notes (an "about me", things you'd rather not broadcast) stay on your device and only help the model filter matches for you.
- No data is sent anywhere

Built for face-to-face. The app's job is to bring the encounter to you — what you do with it is up to you.
