NotchX is a dedicated accessibility shortcut assistant designed to help users with physical, motor, or dexterity impairments interact with their device more easily.
For many users, performing complex swipe gestures, using physical side keys, or stretching to reach remote UI elements on modern tall screens can be painful or physically challenging. NotchX solves this by turning the physical front-camera cutout (notch/punch-hole) into an easily accessible, high-precision touch target.
By performing simple, low-effort touch gestures directly on the camera cutout, users can trigger crucial system functions immediately:
- Navigation: Go Back, Go Home, or Show Recents list.
- System Actions: Pull down notification shade, open Quick Settings panel, or show the Power Dialog menu.
- Scrolling: Easy Scroll Up / Scroll Down triggers.
- Utility Toggles: Modify brightness settings, toggle volume mute, and open custom volume controls.
π Accessibility Service API & Privacy:
NotchX uses the Android AccessibilityService API to detect physical touch interactions on the device's front-camera cutout and execute global accessibility actions.
This service is used strictly to assist users with motor disabilities. The app operates entirely offline. NotchX does not read screen content, track other active packages, record keystrokes, or collect/transmit any personal or sensitive data. All configurations are stored locally on your device.
