About this app

Build confidence at the piano, one note at a time.

Note by note Piano combines a beginner course with a responsive two-octave keyboard and recorded grand-piano sound. Read a note on the staff, find its key, and hear what you play.

A COURSE YOU CAN RETURN TO
Explore 48 short lessons covering note reading, rhythm, listening, chords, and practice at a real piano. Follow the learning path, revisit skills, and keep your progress on your device.

PLAY AND LISTEN
Practice familiar melodies and original K-pop-style tunes. Turn note labels on when you need help, then hide them to test your reading. Automatic playback lets you hear an exercise before trying it yourself.

FRIENDLY PIANO BATTLES
Create a private room for a friend or find an opponent automatically. Both players see the same note; the first correct key earns a point. The higher score after 20 rounds wins. Battles require an internet connection and an optional username/password account.

LIGHTWEIGHT AND OFFLINE
The course, songs, and piano sounds work offline. No account is needed for solo learning. Save a progress backup to move your learning to another device.

Free to use. No ads or in-app purchases.

Designed for landscape play on phones and tablets. Activities at a real piano use your own self-checks; the app does not listen through your microphone or assess your hand technique.
